Our Associate Partners at Eaton remind us that October is Fire Protection and Safety month…and they have us covered.

“Eaton now offers a system combination-type AFCI. This new solution consist of a (1) UL 489 circuit breaker and (1) AFCI or Dual Function (AF/GF) Outlet Branch-Circuit receptacle, which has been tested and listed as a system to provide complete AFCI protection within the home as required by 210.12(A)(4)(d).

The advantages of the system combination-type AFCI kit, containing (1) UL 489 circuit breaker and (1) AFCI or Dual Function (AF/GF) Outlet Branch-Circuit receptacle as indicated by the selected catalog number, include:

  • Meets all requirements outlined in the NEC 210.12(A)(4)(d)
  • Meets all necessary requirements of UL 1699 under category AWDT
  • Listed AFCI solution that allows a receptacle to be installed using non-metallic sheathed cable*
  • Ability to locally reset the circuit for most faults at the receptacle
